What’s on my table today?

Good day everyone and welcome back!

A rainy day today so I thought I would do a blog post and share with everyone what’s on my worktable today…

Let’s have a closer look…do I see more bermuda bay and cucumber crush?  This is such a fresh colour combination I am totally hooked by it.

I needed some cards for a swap and I always make multiple similar or same cards when I am creating.  The supplies are already out and it takes almost no time to make several.  If you make your own DSP and then cut it up, no two cards will be the same!

This card features an “oldie but a goodie” stamp set…Lovely as a Tree, and another favourite, Sheltering Tree, for the sentiment.  In the rush to follow the newest and latest items, sometimes the classics get overlooked and both are carrying forward  to the 2016/2017 annual catalog.  Made my own DSP for this card using ink sprays and purchased stencils on manila cardstock,  then added a bermuda bay card base and a whisper white layer to accent the handmade DSP.  The focal panel was stamped in cucumber crush and bermuda bay with a light wash of soft sky added to the background.  A bit of random ribbon left over from a gift I received was added before the panel was popped up on dimensionals.

This is the beauty of mixed media…the ability to create our own layers and mix them in with Stampin Up products.   The card would have looked equally awesome with some of our linen thread wrapped around the focal panel.

If you enjoyed this post, please subscribe.  If you are Canadian, please consider shopping with me for your Stampin Up needs.  It is super simple…just click the shop now button, create an account and place your order.  It will be delivered right to your door!   Item numbers for Stampin Up products used in this card can be found below.

Remember to click the box that allows your demonstrater to contact you at the bottom of the page when you are creating your account…I send all my new customers a free welcoming gift, and unless you check this box I am unable to send this to you, or (heaven forbid) help you if there is a problem with your order.  If you live in a remote area and have a post box address, contact me for the workaround.

See you next time.

Toadally Awesome

Hello, and welcome back.

Being a lover of punnage, I have wanted to use this stamp since it came out. A friend has a cake business called Toadally Awesome Cakes (you can check her our of facebook and I am sure she would love it if you liked her page), so I made her a couple of tabletoppers she can display with her cakes at various events.  This was made on the fly using a few basic items I had with me.

I used cucumber crush ink for the stamp and also sponged it onto whisper white to create the green layer on one of the tabletoppers.  Since I had limited supplies with me I simply cut letters out of magazines a la 1960s graphic style and attached them to the whisper white using a glue stick. I loosely outlined the letters using our fine black pen to make the letters pop and glued the whole thing to purchased black tags with tombo.

Ribbons are not Stampin Up…again I was crafting spontaneously, not in my studio, there are several ribbons in our catalog that you could choose instead.

To add Debra’s name I used purchased letters…spoiler alert…there is a similar lettering stamp set coming in the new catalog.

To order any of the above items click on the shop now button at the top of the right hand column on this page…and happy punning.

until next time,

Creative Circle Design Team

Welcome back everyone.

Exciting news here on the blog today.  I have been accepted as a design team member on the Creative Circle blog hop.  Which means once a month you have the opportunity to see not only my designs but also to visit and get to know the work of other Stampin Up demonstraters.   To make it really interesting this group also does a 3D project each quarter so I will have the opportunity to bring some of my mixed media craziness to Stampin Up supplies.

Here is the logo to watch for…the hops are on the first Thursday of every month.  Cheers until next time.
